Description Fleur-De-Lys Small Hair Slide A pewter hair slide with a rhodium-plated stainless steel sprung clasp. Handcrafted in Cornwall by St Justin The clip on the back grips the hair tightly to prevent the hair slide from slipping out. Please note that this hair slide has a slightly smaller clip than some of our other designs. Fleur-de-lys is literally translated from French as flower of the lily, and is widely thought to be a stylized version of the species Iris pseudacorus. Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in the artwork from the earliest civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in varying ways.
